Pro-Coast actively collaborates with a variety of EU Horizon 2020 projects to stay informed about ongoing research and developments across related fields. By engaging with these projects, we aim to identify synergies, share knowledge, and explore opportunities for collaboration, so that our collective efforts have a greater impact on addressing environmental and coastal challenges.
B-Cubed: Biodiversity Building Blocks for Policy
B-Cubed aims to improve how we monitor biodiversity, by bringing together data from various sources and organising it into “data cubes”. These data cubes help create models and indicators that show how biodiversity is changing over time. These tools are accessible instantly through cloud technology, and aim to help policymakers make informed decisions to protect biodiversity.
BioAgora
BioAgora is a project that aims to connect science, policy, and society to support biodiversity conservation and sustainable decision-making. It facilitates knowledge exchange and collaboration to integrate scientific expertise into environmental policies.
BioValue
BioValue is a European project focused on improving how we value and protect nature in different areas. It aims to change how land planning and development are done to better support biodiversity. The project works in three main areas: restoring peatlands and planting trees in Germany, improving town planning in Portugal, and cleaning up a river in Italy.
CLEVER
CLEVER studies the connections between international trade and biodiversity. The project aims to find new ways to make production and consumption more sustainable by working with businesses, decision-makers, and communities. By combining research and practical solutions, CLEVER aims to support global efforts to protect biodiversity and promote sustainable economies.
PLUS Change
PLUS Change aims to create better ways to make land use decisions that support sustainability, climate action, biodiversity, and human well-being. By studying past and future land uses, the project develops strategies and tools for citizens, planners, and policymakers to shape land use more effectively and sustainably.
WaterLANDS
WaterLANDS is a project focused on restoring damaged wetlands across Europe to improve water quality, store carbon, and support wildlife. It emphasizes large-scale restoration providing environmental, social, and economic benefits. By working with communities and stakeholders, it promotes wetland protection and sustainable use.
